I am a work-at-home mum with a lively nearly 5 year old and a hard-working self-employed partner. We live, work and play in the beautiful Forest of Dean, the 'land twixt two rivers', on the Gloucestershire/Welsh border.
My first half decade out of school was spent singing in bands, travelling round the place in various beaten up transit vans and generally having the time of my life. Then I had to grow up.
My career pre-baby included several years as manager of an award-winning local bookshop and buyer/manager of an Alternative Therapies/Gift shop selling homeopathic remedies, essential oils, crystals, books and all sorts of lovely goodies. Whilst there I created a popular range of sterling silver and gemstone jewellery which sold well both in shop and online.
Pregnancy in 2007 left me with seriously puffy fingers and put an end to the fiddly jewellery making process so a took up sewing again instead and started Forest Flower Designs in 2010. My designs are ever evolving, as are the techniques I like to use - I have recently rekindled my love of yarn and knitting and hope to incorporate this into my work too!
These days helping the other half with his motorcycle retail business, Biker Dean, designing and creating Forest Flower lovelies and, of course bringing up the Little Man fill my time.
I blog because I love to take photographs and I love to write and this seems to be the best way to combine those two passions. I also love to share finds, makes and ideas and stories. To know that others read, comment, enjoy...well that's just an added bonus!
